The Keum-boo collection of sterling silver earrings and rings overlaid in pure gold is my favourite. It involves applying a 24k gold thin layer to the silver surface and is a popular part of Korean culture. While Keum-boo originated in Korea, it is quite popular in Japan and China as well, and has been so for centuries.

Each piece is unique and the surface has either a sateen or a very slightly etched finish.
